Some of my most powerful memories were made at Camp Smitty – memories of my first campfire with new friends, and the moment I pushed myself to do something I never thought I could.

One summer at Camp Smitty can change a child’s life forever.

Every year, we watch remarkable transformations unfold. Children arrive unsure, shy, even anxious. But in just a few days, surrounded by nature and supported by caring staff, they begin to shine. They make friends, discover strengths, and leave with a sense of belonging that lasts long after summer.

That’s the impact Camp Smitty has – for hundreds of children who need it most.

My connection to Camp Smitty began as a child, visiting my grandmother who helped the camp thrive. She believed in its power to transform lives, and today, three generations later, I’m honoured to carry it forward.

I still remember my first summer at 13 – feeling out of place and uncertain. But by the final campfire, something had shifted. I felt accepted. I felt at home. Camp didn’t just change my summer – it changed me.

For more than 100 years, Camp Smitty has been a place of wonder, growth and healing for thousands of children. This summer, we need your help to continue that legacy.

It costs over $600,000 a year to run Camp Smitty – and we proudly subsidize fees for over 90% of our Campers. No child is ever turned away because of financial barriers.

• ‍👉 A gift of $250 provides a full week of nutritious, home-cooked meals for one Camper.‍
• 👉 A gift of $100 helps a child experience their first canoe ride, a camp-wide game and the magic of stories around the fire.‍
• 👉 A gift of $50 provides arts and crafts supplies, empowering every child to express their creativity and take home something they’re proud of – sometimes for the very first time.
