Federal Government Extends the 2024 Chartible Receipt Deadline

OTTAWA, ON — Before the calendar flipped to the new year, the Federal Government announced that it intends to amend the Income Tax Act to extend the deadline for making donations eligible for tax support in the 2024 tax year, until February 28, 2025.

Given the significant impact the four-week Canada Post stoppage had on charities across the country, including BGC Ottawa, we welcome this change. It gives donors sufficient time to ensure contributions are received and processed and enables the Club the ability to deliver vital programs and services to young people who depend on us.
