The holiday season is a time for joy, community, and giving—and here at BGC Ottawa, we’re dedicated to spreading that warmth to local families in need. Through our special Holiday Giving initiatives, like our Year-End Giving Campaign for Holiday Hampers and the beloved Angel Tree Program, we’re working to support those who need it most during this festive season.

Holiday Hampers: Spreading Warmth and Cheer

Every year, BGC Ottawa identifies families facing financial challenges and partners with generous donors to provide Holiday Hampers—packages filled with essential items, groceries, and a few special treats to brighten their holidays.

A year-end gift of $250, $300, $500, or even $1,000 can help fill a hamper for a family in need. Thanks to a generous matching offer from Loblaws, your donation will be doubled, making your support go twice as far!

Our Goal for 2024‍

This year, our aim is to distribute 300 Holiday Hampers across our four Clubhouses, with each hamper costing approximately $300. To reach this ambitious goal, we’re striving to raise $90,000. Your support will play a crucial role in helping us make this happen.

How You Can Help:

• Businesses and Organizations: Make an impact through sponsorship or charitable donations.
• Individuals: Support local families with a cash gift. Suggested donation amounts:
  • $300–$400 – Supports a small family
  • $500 – Supports a large family
  • $1,000 – Supports multiple families

Looking for a hands-on way to give back? This holiday season, you can directly impact a family by creating a personalized Holiday Hamper. Fill out our Build Your Own Hamper form, and our team will match you with a family, providing a list of essential items to include, such as food, toiletries, and a few small luxuries. Gather your friends, family, or colleagues to fill a hamper and help brighten a family’s holiday!

Angel Tree Program: Spreading Magic to Ottawa's Youth

We believe every child deserves to experience the magic of the holiday season. That’s why, each year, we rally together to bring joy to nearly 2,000 children and teens through our Angel Tree program. By selecting gifts thoughtfully tailored to their ages and interests, we create moments of happiness that remind these young people they are seen, valued, and celebrated.

Want to help? You can:

• Donate funds for our “elves” to shop for gifts.
• Contribute new, unwrapped toys or gift items.
• Drop off your donations at one of our Clubhouses or through a business donation drive.

How You Can Support the Angel Tree Program:

• Give a gift valued around $30, which can bring joy to a Club member this season.
• Consider including teens on your list—our members range from ages 6 to 18.
• Participate individually or as a team to make a collective impact.
