Ottawa Senators and BGC Ottawa join forces to offer the ultimate summer day camp experience
Registration is now open for Campers aged 6-12
OTTAWA, ONTARIO – BGC Ottawa is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with the Ottawa Senators that will see its summer day camp program renamed the Ottawa Senators Summer Day Camps powered by BGC Ottawa. Building from the philanthropic relationship that the Senators Community Foundation has established with BGC Ottawa, the hockey club and BGCO are creating another unique opportunity for the next generation of Senators fans to experience firsthand what it means to be part of the BGC Ottawa Family.
“We are thrilled to partner with an incredible organization who shares our values and commitment of providing children and youth with new opportunities and experiences,” said Adam Joiner, BGC Ottawa’s Chief Executive Officer. “BGC Ottawa is known for delivering life-changing programs, and together with the Ottawa Senators, I’m confident our team will provide young people with the best summer day camp experience in the city and memories that will last a lifetime.”
Summer day camps will be offered for children aged 6 to 12 at three BGC Ottawa locations – Don McGahan Clubhouse, Taggart Parkes Family Clubhouse and Tomlinson Family Foundation Clubhouse – for eight weeks starting July 2 at a cost of $275 per child per week. A reduced rate of $220 will be offered for weeks that include a statutory holiday. Day camps will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, with pre- and post-care available to all Campers at an additional cost.
Each week of camp will feature a different theme and a diverse range of activities designed to spark curiously, foster creativity and encourage exploration. From arts and crafts to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) challenges to sports and recreation – including exciting Senators themed activities, games and events provided by BGC Ottawa and the Ottawa Senators – every day will be chock full of non-stop excitement. Weekly out trips to local museums, farms, festivals and events are promised to be both educational and fun. All Campers will also receive an Ottawa Senators Summer Day Camps powered by BGC Ottawa T-shirt to sport during the weekly out trips and beyond.
“The Ottawa Senators, along with our community foundation, are committed to improving the lives of our region’s children and youth,” said Senators Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Customer Engagement, Jeff Harrop. “BGC Ottawa and the Senators share many of the same values for education, activity and wellness for young people, adding this to our already strong alignment with our captain Brady Tkachuk’s ‘Tkachuk’s Captains’ initiative, this partnership felt like a winning opportunity for everyone involved. We’re excited to support the programming and hope that these day camps provide positive and lasting memories for the children of Ottawa-Gatineau.
All monies raised from Ottawa Senators Summer Day Camps will be invested back into the Club, allowing BGC Ottawa to continue to offer life-changing programs and services to thousands of children and youth, many living in vulnerable neighbourhoods, in our community.
