The Snowsuit Fund launches fourth annual 50/50 For the City raffle in partnership with BGC Ottawa
OTTAWA, ON — The Snowsuit Fund is thrilled to announce the launch of its fourth annual 50/50 For the City raffle on Nov. 25, featuring a $25,000 guaranteed jackpot and early bird prizes from Canadian Tire Ottawa Dealers. With an anticipated take-home jackpot expected to surpass past years’ half-million-dollar milestone, the raffle supports Ottawa’s vulnerable children and youth, with the winning draw on Jan. 17, 2025.
Tickets are available in bundles starting at five for $10 and up to 500 for $100 – more tickets mean a bigger jackpot and increased support for Ottawa families in need. Proceeds will directly benefit The Snowsuit Fund and BGC Ottawa’s programs to counter poverty’s impact on children, youth and families in Ottawa.
Now in its 43rd season, The Snowsuit Fund provides nearly 17,000 snowsuits annually to children from low-income families, while BGC Ottawa, with its citywide network of clubhouses, offers critical programs and services to children and youth in underserved neighbourhoods.
“We are thrilled to join forces with BGC Ottawa again this year,” said Martin Masse, Chair of The Snowsuit Fund. “The Snowsuit Fund provides warmth to children in need in Ottawa. Like BGCO’s programs, this ensures Ottawa’s children and youth have access to opportunities that develop confidence, social skills and a strong sense of belonging, regardless of economic challenges.
Rogers Radio stations Chez 106.1, 105.3 KiSS FM and Country 101.1 are powering the raffle with comprehensive support. Ottawa’s favourite on-air personalities are rallying the community, actively promoting the 50/50 For the City raffle in live segments, interviews and on social media platforms. Announcers will be sharing stories, encouraging listeners to purchase tickets and highlighting the life-changing work of The Snowsuit Fund and BGC Ottawa, driving the community-wide reach and impact of the campaign.
The campaign will also feature storytelling contributions from Algonquin College students in the Storytelling Fundamentals program, who are earning course credit by highlighting the impact of the raffle on Ottawa’s families.
“We’re deeply grateful for our partnership with The Snowsuit Fund,” said Adam Joiner, Chief Executive Officer of BGC Ottawa. “The need in our community has never been greater, and together we are making a big difference in the lives of our Members, their families and young people across Ottawa.”
Under this partnership, The Snowsuit Fund holds the lottery license and serves as the primary charity, donating 50% of net proceeds after prizes and expenses to BGC Ottawa.

About THE SNOWSUIT FUND (www.snowsuitfund.com)
In its 43rd season, The Snowsuit Fund provides nearly 17,000 snowsuits annually to Ottawa children from low-income families for whom winter clothing is an unaffordable luxury. A snowsuit offers more than just warmth – it allows children to play outdoors, promotes health, builds self-esteem, and fosters a sense of inclusion that strengthens families and the wider community. A grassroots organization with no government funding, The Snowsuit Fund relies entirely on the generosity of individuals, groups and volunteers who give their time, money and talents to ensure every child in need can stay warm and thrive during Ottawa’s harsh winters.
